Generic Sumycin (Tetracycline)

Tetracycline is a type of medication used to treat bacterial infections. This medicine is combined with anti-ulcers drugs to heal stomach ulcers. You can treat acne using Tetracycline. This medication works by reducing the growth of bacteria in the body. It is therefore not effective in curbing viral infections such as flu. 

 

Take Tetracycline as prescribed by your doctor. Normally it is taken without food, between  one or two hours before meals. Supplement each dose with a glass full of water. After taking this dose, avoid lying down for about ten minutes. As a result, avoid taking it before going to bed. If you have complications taking this medication without food, ask your doctor if you can take it with food. If you are using products that are rich in calcium, aluminum and magnesium, take h medication three hours before you consume Tetracycline. The same instructions must be applied to dairy products such as milk. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. However, in children aged 8 years and above, the dosage is administered on their weight. 

 

Take this medication at evenly spaced intervals to get them most of it. Tetracycline works best when the level of medicine that gets into your body is constant. Continue to take this drug until the dose is finished. If you stop taking the medicine abruptly, the symptoms are likely to return. Do not change the medication unless your physician dictates so. Always inform your doctor if your condition persists. 

 

Tetracycline has the following side effects: loss of appetite, nausea, sore throat, joint pain, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, fainting, kidney disease, fever, yellowing of skin, easy brushing or bleeding. tingling of the feet and tooth discoloration. 

 

Before taking Tetracycline inform your doctor if:

• You have kidney and liver disease

• You are allergic to Tetracycline

• You have any other allergies
