Description
Product Information:
Lotensin is an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor drug. It is usually prescribed to treat hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction.
 
Dosage:
The standard dosage of Lotensin is 10Mg which is administered to patients once daily in tablet form. However, the recommended starting dosage of the drug is 5 Mg daily for adults and 0.2 Mg/Kg for children of six and above years.
 
Usage:
Lotensin may be prescribed to adults and children from six years and above to treat hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction.
 
Side Effects:
Consult your doctor in case of the following side effects;
Allergic reactions. This may include swelling of your face, throat or lips; severe stomach ache and difficult breathing. 
Dizziness
Fever
Jaundice
Anxiety, insomnia 
Headache
Severe skin reactions
Nausea, vomiting
Constipation
Cough
Rash

Precaution:
Due to its risks of side effects, the use of Lotensin requires regular progress checkups by a specialist. Further, the drug should not be administered to;
Children below the age of six.
Pregnant women. Research on the drug has shown severe adverse effects on fetuses in case of consumption of the drug by pregnant women. The drug should therefore only be consumed upon prescription by a specialist.
Nursing mothers. Lotensin can easily be passed to a child from its mother through breast milk. The drug is known to have serious side effects to children.
Elderly persons. Due to the fact that their kidneys may not be in the best condition, Lotensin may be processed slowly making it stay more within the body increasing the risks of side effect.
People with liver damage or a history of kidney condition.
