Description
Product Information:
Lumigan is used to treat glaucoma and for the reduction of high eye pressure.
 
Dosage:
Lumigan should be administered in the recommended dosage of one drop in each eye once daily. Effects of the drug are experienced within 4 hours of use with maximum effect being experienced 8 to 12 hours within use of the drops. 
 
Usage:
Lumigan is usually administered to children from 16 years and adults for purposes of treating cases of intraocular pressure in patients suffering from open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
 
Side Effects:
If undesirable effects are suffered due to the use of Lumigan, it is recommended to consult a specialist immediately. Some of these side effects include;
Pigmentation. The use of Lumigan may result to the increased browning of the eyelashes, iris and eyelids. The browning of irises is permanent while that of eyelashes and eyelids may be reversible in some patients once use is stopped.
Allergic reactions. This may include swelling on the face and difficulty in breathing.
Eye discharge
Reddening of the eyes 
Itching of the eyes
Burning sensation after using the drops
Watery eyes or dry eyes
Dizziness
Eyes becoming more sensitive to light 
Blurred vision
Conjunctival Hyperemia
Conjunctival Hemorrhage
 
Precautions:
Refrain from contaminating the eye drop bottle. Contamination may lead to bacteria known as keratisis that infects the cornea and may lead to blindness.
Use of the drops may lead to pigmentation. In cases where this pigmentation occurs in the iris, it becomes permanent.
In case you use eye contacts, it is recommended that you should remove them before administering drops in the eyes and only put them back after 15 minutes.
Lumigan is not recommended for children below the age of 16 years, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
