Product Information:

Proscar is used to treat hair loss in men. This medication has proven to be effective in men with symptoms of BPH(benign prostatic hyperplasia). The drug prevents the transfer of DHT(dihydrotestosterone)  in the body.

Dosage:

Take this drug as prescribed by your doctor. Proscar can be taken with or without food depending on your schedule. Follow the directions posted on your prescription label. This medicine is taken with a glass full of water. Take Proscar at the same time every day. For better results, use Proscar regularly. Ensure you schedule frequent blood tests with your doctor to ascertain whether the drug is working properly. The doctor may also want to check for prostate cancer.

Usage:

Store this drug at room temperature away from heat, light and moisture. Always cover the lid tightly after use. Women and children are not allowed to use Proscar. Expectant women who come into contact with this tablet should wash their hands thoroughly using running water and soap.

Side Effects:

Some of the side effects experienced by using Proscar are:  swelling of face, tongue, lips and throat, dizziness, nipple discharge, weakness, swelling of hand and feet, unusual ejaculation, less sex drive, headache, running nose, rashes, trouble having an erection, less libido and lumps in your breasts. If you notice these signs, be quick to alert your doctor for urgent medical care.

Precautions:

Before you take Proscar, inform your doctor if:

You have liver or kidney disease

You have a bladder muscle complication

You have problems urinating

You are allergic to Avodart medicine

You feel dizzy

You are using other prescriptions such as OTC (over-the-counter) drugs

It is important to note that some drugs may affect how Proscar works. Therefore you should tell your doctor all the medications you are using including Over-The-Counter drugs, herbal products and vitamins.
